Every year since they were born, we’ve gotten our children exactly three Christmas gifts for under the tree. No Santa or lumps of coal, just good ‘ol mom and dad. Oh, there will be stocking stuffers as well, and the new book and pair of pj’s they get on Christmas Eve, but given our three gift limit, I’ve never felt the need to brave the crowds the day after Thanksgiving. It’s just a little too much crazy for this introvert.
So, instead, we went hiking up in Raven Rock. And we had a blast.
