Traditions were a little hit and miss in my home growing up, but like any family, we had a few. One of the highlights of the season for me has been creating new traditions with my own kids. One of those is that we get our Christmas tree every year the day after Thanksgiving.
And getting our tree from Gillis Hill Road Produce (our 7th year running, I believe) wouldn’t be complete without my kids playing tag in the lot, weaving in and out of all the pines, getting sap all over their clothes and having the best time.
Over the course of the weekend, we finish our holiday decorating, pulling out old familiar ornaments and reminiscing about the past. Like the time we all hand painted our own nutcracker and how mine is clearly the best.
