Gratitude in the mundane.

Daily life. It can feel so mundane. We look to our creative side to add the excitement and rejuvenation we crave. It’s easy to think of the day to day as uninspiring. I can easily lose sight of the reality that inspiration can strike anywhere, sometimes in the most ordinary of places.

As I reflect on my daily responsibilities, I’m reminded of how fortunate I am. Fortunate to get to choose my own life. To have the freedom to stay home with my kids while they were young and to work from home now that they’re a bit older. To have a secure roof over my head. To never go hungry. To have access to medical care whenever I need it. To feel safe and loved.

Gratitude fills me as I fold laundry and kill time in the carpool lane.

Fortunate, indeed.
