It’s nearing the end of the month and I don’t have many images to show for it, but I’m actually okay with that. I was focusing on quality over quantity. I tried some new things, including committing to one month with just my iPhone camera.
I thought I’d feel very limited, frustrated even, but I didn’t. Oh, there were times I wanted to pull out my big camera, but there were equally many times where being in the moment and not having to track down or pull out gear allowed me to hone in on creativity rather than trusting my expensive gear to “take a good picture.”
The biggest surprise to me is now much I’ve enjoyed macro photography, which is something I’ve never really tried before. And the capabilities of my phone in that area are very good. I could use the ultra wide lens all day! It’s so fun! And that right there is maybe my key takeaway from my month long experiment – I had so much fun. What a great way to begin the new year. I highly encourage you to try it!.
